I honor my promises. Broadcasting direct to you from Seattle, WA (home of plaid flannel shirts and Ben Gibbard, don'tcha know?), is a brand new post full of goodies and pretty clothes!!!! Wooohoo! Yippee! And another such exclamations of joy.

First order of business.
I have sprung for it, used the credit card that the lovely parental units have provided for me for use in Washington (for all the LOVELY clothes I can buy) and bought me a House of Holland t-shirt!! Eek I'm excited! I'll feel undeniably stand out in my "Do Me Daily, Christopher Bailey tee. Even though I'm miles behind on the trend, at my school it will seem quite original!

Here it is, in all it's neon glory (I do hope I bought the right size, I can't be bothered converting centimeters to inches!)

Yay! I can't wait for it to come and for me to have the chance to explain the purchase to my parents...joy.

We're Coming Home Again...

It's been a while my fashionistas.

And in this time I have grown...away from fashion momentarily, but I'm on my way back. I had a revelation last night. I can love music, I can be a musician, but I can be a wonderful dresser as well. So, in keeping with my transformation/revelation, I will be posting much more regularly (which I'm sure will please my FAN. Notice, I say fan in the singular sense...I know who you are missy) and hopefully garner more readers.

I'm at work at the moment, but as soon as I get a spare minute, I will come up with something worthwhile to post. In the meantime, let the excitement that I shall be posting again stew for awhile until it builds to dramastic proportions (dramastic, it is its own word, in the dream world shared by a certain boy whose name starts with J and myself)

It's worse than I ever could have imagined. *Shudder* malls are populated by Abercrombie only shoppers, over-the-top punks that would make even Leah scream, and ugly boys giving you the "you'd love it if I loved you" eyes. The excursion to Disneyworld (land of the thick southern accent) did nothing to soften the blow. The grandparents are out in full force mode. I have been awake a total of 1 hour and I have been guilt-forced to drink a bottle of water. I didn't even care about it, I just wasn't thirsty!
My only connection to the living world is Cowgirl Cutie, and I am desperately thinking of a way to nicely explain the dangers of a logo'd Coach pouch. No, I'm not really sure what a Coach pouch is either, but I fell into the dungeon that is Coach purses myself a few years ago, and I am still recovering. Pictures from that dark period in my life still make me cry. I have an intense want to go Asian Leprechaun on her ass and yell at her for wasting 34 dollars on such a purchase. I am afraid, however, that I am an influence on this current trend of hers, I must find a way to educate the masses!

Do's and Don'ts to Easy, Acceptable Style
I get that not everyone can look as fabulous as me everyday, it does take a certain je ne sais quoi not easily replicated, but there are some steps that anyone can take so their appearance is at least acceptable.
Don't
- logos, they are tacky. never, ever ever ever ever...
- dress like Cory Kennedy, that phase was recent, and scarring, dirty is not in people, wash your hair and clean your clothes please
- too tight clothing. this goes for tops (tummy rollls, so not attractive), skirts, and most of all jeans. just because you don't want to shop for the next size up, doesn't mean that everyone else wants to be hurt as the result of it.
- Uggs beyond the ski slopes. That trend was bad enough around the first time.
- all in one brand head to toe
- slutty for the sake of slutty...*cough cough* Julia S. *cough cough*

Do
- experiment

Tonight is the dreaded temple service for grandma's 80th birthday. There's a bat mitzvah too so I cannot wait for the 7th graders in Uggs and pastel colored dresses to parade past. I'll be the one in the corner taking pictures, hoping a remotely attractive person my age will come to laugh along with me.

If you are a nouvelle entre to the fashion world and all that goes with it (as all of us were at some point), I’m sure there are many questions you have. Hopefully this list will assist in any confusion. These are modifications of questions I have asked myself, so sorry if some answers seem obvious, but I’m very blonde sometimes, no matter what my hair color insists is my IQ.

Who is this Anna Wintour?
Okay, let me just breathe for a second as I pretend that you didn’t ask that question. Just kidding, there was a time, sadly, that even I didn’t know who Anna Wintour was, and I heap thanks upon the best friend that informed me. Anna Wintour is the infamous editor in chief of Conde Nast’s US Vogue magazine. Equally as infamous are her encounters with PETA, where she is usually assaulted with paint, in protest of her approval of fur for Vogue’s pages.

Conde Nast? I’ve never heard of this before.
Simple, Conde Nast is like Hearst publishing. An umbrella corporation that owns most major magazines that Hearst doesn’t already own generally. Think, Elias Clarke in The Devil Wears Prada, or Meade Publications in Ugly Betty. Conde Nast also oversees W, Lucky, Allure, the New Yorker etc.

Bee Shaffer? Why is she always with Anna Wintour??
Bee Shaffer is, hard to believe, Anna Wintour’s daughter. Anna was married to David Shaffer a few years back and Bee (real name Katherine) and Charles (or Charlie) are the products of the union.

Andre Leon Talley?
Editor-at-large at US Vogue. One of the longest survivors in the Fashion World, his stay at the top has lasted more than 25 years.

Tinsley Mortimer? Fabiola Beracasa? Dylan Lauren? Lauren Davis?
All fall under the generous umbrella of “socialite.” Born into the glamorous and fashionable life. I.E. they never had to read one of these because they’ve lived it their whole life. Search any of their names on google or wikipedia and you’ll find their whole story.

Although we've been having some crazy weather in LA lately, I'm still enchanted by tales of snow in other places. DESIGNER PROFILE - Karl Lagerfeld

"Only the minute and the future are interesting in fashion - it exists to be destroyed. If everybody did everything with respect, you'd go nowhere."

A Catholic baptismal record indicates his birth date as 10 September 1933 but Lagerfeld states he was born in 1938, as all people in fashion should fight for those few extra years.

He made his name as an independent creator who collaborated with a variety of different fashion labels, including Chloé, Fendi and Chanel. In the early 1980s he set up his own label, called Lagerfeld, which launched perfumes and clothing lines. He has also played a role in equipping leading artists.

Together with his mother, Karl Lagerfeld emigrated to Paris in 1953. In 1955, at the age of 22, Lagerfeld was awarded a position at Pierre Balmain, after winning a competition for a coat sponsored by the International Wool Secretariat. Yves Saint Laurent also won the contest for a dress award. "Yves was working for Dior. Other young people I knew were working for Balenciaga, whom they thought was God, but I wasn't so impressed," he recalled in 1976.

After three years he moved to Jean Patou. "I became bored there, too, and I quit and tried to go back to school, but that didn't work, so I spent two years mostly on beaches -- I guess I studied life."

With money from his wealthy family, he set up a small shop in Paris. At this time, he would often consult with Madame Zereakian, Christian Dior's Turkish fortune teller. Lagerfeld later said, "She told me I'd suceed in fashion and perfume."

In the early 1990s he once employed strippers and an Italian adult film star to model his black-and-white collection for Fendi. He has produced legendary pieces like the shower-dress, with beaded water streaming down the front; a car-dress with a radiator grille and fender, and a multitude of outstandingly eccentric hats.

Lagerfeld, along with Calvin Klein, was the target of a pieing by PETA in 2001 at a fashion premiere at Lincoln Center in New York City.^[1]

In 2004 he designed some outfits for the international music artist's Madonna Re-Invention Tour, and recently designed outfits for Kylie Minogue's Showgirls Tour.

Recently, Lagerfeld collaborated with the international Swedish fashion brand H&M. On 12 November 2004 H&M offered a limited range of different Lagerfeld clothes in chosen outlets for both women and men. Only two days after having supplied its outlets, H&M announced that almost all the clothes were sold out. Lagerfeld has expressed a lack of fear that working with lower-end brands will taint his image, although in the past he has worked closely with the exclusive hosiery designer Wolford.

Lagerfeld is also a photographer. He produced Visionaire 23: The Emperor's New Clothes, a series of nude pictures of South African model David Miller. Lagerfeld is currently the chief executive of design at the House of Chanel.

The designer was also the subject of a French reality series called "Signé Chanel" in 2005. The show covered the creation of his Fall/Winter 2004-2005 Chanel couture collection. It aired on Sundance Channel in the United States during the fall of 2006.
Lagerfeld is also famous for a dramatic transformation of his body, when he lost around 36 kg (80 pounds) in one year. “I suddenly wanted to dress differently, to wear clothes designed by Hedi Slimane,” he said. “But these fashions, modeled by very, very slim boys—and not men my age—required me to lose at least eighty pounds. It took me exactly thirteen months.”
The diet was created specially for Lagerfeld by Dr. Jean-Claude Houdret, which led to a book called The Karl Lagerfeld Diet

Bonjour my darlings!
This weekend was fabulous! I was on a shopping high all of saturday. Had a fabulous day of shopping at Barney's and Ron Herman. My purchases included:

I begin the post with the introduction of a new character who will, invariably, be the topic of many a post, as he's already been the topic of many an angry conversastion with Cowgirl Cutie Laura. Let's call him Pudgy Peter. Fatuous Fellow tells Laura on Monday that a mysterious boy on the football team likes her. He can't say who it is, and the mystery boy wants to learn how to be a "playa" from Fatuous Fellow first. Not such a good omen huh? Well Caleb insists that he will tell Laura who it is if the boy himself doesn't pluck up the courage by next Friday.
Thankfully...or not so thankfully, Pudgy Peter admits what we all knew (I mean, who else could it have been) yesterday, sucessfully making Laura terrified of him. He told Laura that he didn't actually like her anymore, that he had "lost interest" but later takes that statement back.
If you're reading this Pudgy Peter, unlikely but possible, give it up. You're not exactly her type. It's not gonna happen, she will wait until death for Lucious Lad Jason. Sorry, but I have to be honest....

Life Report:
Mostly boring day, had some fun after school with Brit-like Babe and Gorgeous Garcon. Evil French teacher insisted that he knew the word for six pack, yet when I asked Brit-like Babe if he had une tapelet, he insisted there was no such word. Thank god the embarassment didn't hit me until much later. No plans for Friday night, tres icky. Anyone up for it?

Not a new episode, sadly. Insanely boring review of the season until now and even more boring "never before seen" stuff.
Lost
Holy shit, RIP Mr. Eko. I have to admit I never saw it coming, I thought they could never kill him off, the cast is totally racially imbalanced now, I can sense the lawsuit coming a mile away. Lost Club 8th period was more fun than watching the episode. Boy suggested and drew a demonstration on the board of Kate and Sawyer getting it on between bars with Danny coming to videotape the scene for Ben in the viewing room. Apparently, I'm to write a play for us to rehearse during the 13 week break :P. Slutty Scrubber Sasha and I being the only girls in the club, I'm expecting a lot of Kate and Claire.

Fashion Report:
This weekend I'm looking to spend my $459 on a delightful pair of shoes, seeing as I promised myself no more new clothes until I loe 5 pounds.

It's a toss up of some adorable things I've been looking at for awhile. Hope they can be of inspiration for some other darlings.
Unfortunately, giving myself some time to think things over has left me with way too many gorgeous shoes to choose from!

"Cheaper" and possibly more practical version of the shoes below. I believe it's a rubber sole, not so attractive but better for the rain and bad weather. I don't think that's a problem in LA though, and the other ones are so much cuter for just a fraction more.

It's unfair that they should be $495, with tax that's gonna look like much more over my budget on my bill than anything else, but by the time the bill comes I can find the money somewhere, so I'm thinking these are my best choice, although at first I was gonna get the more practical Chloe flats at first......but these are just so gorgeous.

Ahh...my obsession with the B Buckle and Karl Lagerfeld continues. These are insanely underbudget, but the extra money won't amount to anything I can buy, so basically it's pointless. I love them, but hard flats usually hurt my feet....I think I'm convincing myself into the Gucci gold soled ones. *le sigh*

Socialite Party Reports:
So the Halloween party pictures started surfacing today. Love love loved Tinsley Mortimer as Raggedy Ann. Fabiola Beracasa wins for the best change, her Medusa was okay, but Dita Von Teese and Marilyn Manson with Jason Beckman was genius. Margherita Missoni was adorable too, though Bondage Doll probably wasn't the best choice for her classy style. I can't say enough about Emmy Rossum, she's one of my favorite girls, so although she looks a bit *bloated* in all the pictures of her, I still love her. Not sure who Mirabelle Marden was, but she looked AH-DORABLE, where was that outfit when I was looking?! And Josh Lucas, bare chested brilliance.

blue eyes as time flies

Deepest regrets for not posting yesterday, but as we all know it was Halloween and a bit of a crazy one at that.

Halloween Report:
So my Tuesday introduces some new characters, glorious French foreign exchange students. Only two of them matter, however, so we'll call them Brit-like Babe and Gorgeous Garcon. Brit-like Babe just discovered as hot today though. Went home with Dashing Debutante Raquel, Cowgirl Cutie Laura, Manageable Mademoiselle Michelle and Nicknameless Jennifer. Spent the afternoon counting down the minutes until we could get good and slutty for Halloween on 26th. Daft Damsel Lane arrives in tears that get brushed away in her lovely slutty to the max French maid costume. We leave for 25/26th and Crossroads party with Jack, Lisa, Alison, and old friend Amelia.
25th was crazier than even I expected. Egging and smoking galore, how wonderful. We go to the party for just a few minutes, as it doesn't seem to be as fun as promised. Ran around 25th/24th looking for Laid Back Lady Lori and old friend Ron along with new SAMO hottie James and some acquaintances Jan, Alexis, Spring, and Elaine. Meet up with them twice as mutal friend Brenna wants to see Ron too. See Gorgeous Garcon TWICE! Reiterate that he smells smashingly and giggle stupidly each time. Finally actually meet infamous Randy who I see a million times over the night. See even more infamous Scott Blue, fun times.
Dashing Debutante is egged once and almost egged twice, I manage to escape with my hair and outfit undamaged. Go back to party alone because Mom won't stop yelling at me over the phone and need a bathroom. She's angry about the yacht party I went to over the weeekend and insists on coming to get me at 8:30. Obviously don't want to but am secretly glad to be taken away from the insanity.

Today was mostly boring...make up many imaginative excuses as to why I don't have homework. Find out my 95 on the KT test is now a 100 :) thank you very much. Free periods mostly, ace a French test. Most of the interesting people (including Cowgirl Cutie Laura and Lucious Lad Jason) go to Olvera Street for most of the day. Along with Brit-like Babe and Gorgeous Garcon! After school Gemma, Sporty Schoolgirl and I try to bring attention to ourselves by doing cartwheels and even more stupid things in front of the French boys. Fatuous Fellow says he'll tell who likes Laura if the actual boy doesn't tell her by next Friday. Can we get that in writing? Math test tomorrow, no one, not even Birdman Sanford which is beyond icky, remembered the notes for our cheat sheets. However, Damien sent Birdman the notes as he seems to be the only one of us not spaced out enough to forget them. I'll send them to you Laura as soon as Sanford sends them to me!

Did I reward an insanely boring tale of Halloween with some beautiful clothes? I do hope so :)

Friday marks the day I never tell boys my feelings, even indirectly. Fatuous Fellow Caleb pulls the famous "rather be friends line" to Cowgirl Cutie Laura and Sporty Schoolgirl Nikki, who rightly relay the information back to moi. Will love ever loom on the horizon for little old me? Lucious Lad Jason and Slutty Scrubber Sasha still together at last report, poor Laura might have to wait a bit longer than originally anticipated. Weekend spent with dark cloud of KT test tomorrow which I have yet to comprehend fully. Need to copy Physics homework but need to sleep, will do during lunch, or whenever I can.
Halloween plans include home with Dashing Debutante Raquel, 26th and crashing a Crossroads party I am supposedly invited to. Unfortunately French test and school night = 9:30 curfew :(
